Ridgeview PTA
Welcome back! We are excited to start the 2010-11 school year. Our PTA has many exciting things planned for this year.
Our Membership Drive Week will start August 30 and run through September 3. Our membership theme this year is "Run with the Ridgeview Roadrunners". Be a part of Ridgeview's "running team" and join our PTA! We have a theme for each day of Membership Drive Week. Please watch for information to come home with your children. Classes with the most memberships will receive a special party!

Monday, 8/30/10-Wear your favorite "Running" shoes to start your "Run with the Roadrunners" week!
Tuesday, 8/31/10-Wear your favorite "running" Crazy Socks!
Wednesday, 9/1/10-Wear your favorite "Running" gear such as wristbands, headbands, and hats!
Thursday, 9/2/10-Dress like your favorite athlete, such as a football, baseball, soccer player or cheerleader!
Friday, 9/3/10-Wear your Ridgeview Spirit Shirt! Wear your Ridgeview shirt and receive a special surprise from PTA!
Our Fall Fundraiser will begin on September 1and run through September 15. We have an great variety of items for sale this year. Check out the catalog! Remember fundraising helps meet the needs of all students in these difficult economic times.

FREE GLASSES
On September 25, 2010 at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Redlands on the annual Day 4 Kids Dr. Matejka and Dr. Glorilyn Tamano Fletcher will be giving free eye screenings and free glasses to school age kids 5-18 years of age under the program Sight for Students operated by Vision Care For Me which introduced Sight for Students in 1997 in response to what continues to be one of the most overlooked healthcare issues for children, the need for regular eyecare. In a 2004 national survey conducted by VSP, it was found that nearly seven out of ten parents with children under age six have never taken their children to an eyecare specialist for an eye examination. And, of those children who have been checked, only 30 percent have been seen by an eye doctor. That means tens of thousands of children enter school each year with undetected vision problems that can hinder academic development and performance.
Sign-ups have started and for those who are interested in free eye screenings and free glasses please contact Audrey Montano at 909-798-4599 ext. 207. The actual screening will take place on September 25, 2010 from 12:00 noon to 4:00pm.
